Until now it has always been said that you can not use the buddy box training system if the two transmitters are from different manufactures, apart from Futaba/Hitec which use an identical system. The main reason for this incompatibility is that most RC equipment manufacturers transmit the first 4 channels which represent Ailerons, Elevator, Rudder and Throttle in different orders.

Now with the use of BuddyMate this problem can be overcome. BuddyMate is an active intelligent buddy box lead which re-maps the first 4 channels to enable most makes of RC equipment to be used together. The makes supported are Futaba,Hitec, JR, Multiplex,Robbe, Airtronics and Sanwa.

There will be certain combinations of make and models of transmitter which will not be usable with this device due to short-comings of some manufacturer's buddy box systems.

Note: BuddyMate is designed to work with transmitters operating in Mode 2 i.e. Aileron and Elevator on the right hand stick, Throttle and Rudder on the left hand stick. Also the transmitter that goes with the RC equipment installed in the model must be used by the instructor as the Master transmitter.
